Taichung Civil Affairs Department is a first-level organization of Taichung City Government. With the command of the mayor, it supervises organizations including all the Household Registration Offices in the city, Taichung Funeral Affairs Administration, and The Administrative Committee of Taichung Municipal Confucius Temple；the bureau chief is responsible for all district chiefs. Its responsibility includes districts, villages, autonomy, religion and customs, household registration, military service, and duty management, which are all related to public welfare and rights. Under the principle of “honest, efficient and convenient” proposed by mayor Hu, the department is promoting “citizen first”, “convenient strategy for citizens”, “promote good customs”, “quality funeral culture” and “reformed service” as the goal to conduct all related service in order to gain greater benefit for Taichung citizens.
